Growing up too quickly!

So Rylee had walking nailed down!  She can turn, walk the entire length of a room, and she is even trying to run!  She is not quite able to run yet, but her balance is awesome and she is doing an amazing job walking!  She is also getting her 4th tooth, the top right one, which is good because she was starting to resemble Nanny McPhee!  :)

It is amazing the things Rylee learns, and so quickly!  She claps, loves dancing to music, giggles when she sneezes, and even says MaMa and DaDa to the right person!  She loves it when we chase her, and she can spend hours reading books with Mommy!  She calls Diogi DiDi or Do (like dough, but I think she is trying to say dog), which is really cute.  She is starting to test her limits, which is funny because when we tell her no, she looks at us and smiles or grunts, and tries it again (whatever it is, like reaching for something she should not touch)...  It is really hard not to laugh or smile, but she is learning!

She's Walking and Teething, Oh My!

Rylee took her first steps Wednesday, Nov. 3.  We were in the living room, and Kevin set her down on the ground.  He happened to have her binkie in his hand, and she was standing, so he shook it for her to come and get it!  Sure enough, she took a few steps toward him!  Then we had her take a few steps toward Mommy!  She thought it was funny and still tries to hold our hands when she walks, but I know this is just the beginning and she will be running all over the place in no time!

Rylee also is getting her 3rd tooth!  It is her top, left, front tooth, which I felt yesterday.  You can barely see it, but it is there, and the right one is following and should be here in no time!  She is funny about them because if I ask her to look at her teeth, she will open her mouth and let me feel them, then giggles...  It is really quite cute!  Once they are showing, I will be sure to take some pictures and post!

In major need of updates!!!

So much has happened since the last time I was on here!  So the biggest update is that we are now moved and settled in Colorado Springs!  Rylee did amazing on the way out here and is now starting to get into a routine again.  Sleeping at night is still a little rough as she does not want to be in her crib, or anywhere else really, except for my arms...  It is getting a little bit better each day though.

Rylee now has 2 bottom teeth.  She got the first one right @ 8 months old, and the second one quickly followed.  One of them is a little crooked, but it looks so cute when she smiles!  I know there are more coming, but we have no idea when, and can't see anything more than just the 2 right now.

As for food goes, Rylee is an excellent eater!  She will try anything than Mommy eats, and likes 98% of it. Even the food she does not like so much, if she sees me eating it, she will give it another try!  She loves her veggies the most, followed by her cereal, and is starting to open up to fruits.  Usually the third try is a charm.  

For Halloween, Rylee was a monkey!  We did not take her trick or treating, but she did help us pass out candy, and of course we took tons of pictures of her in the front yard with the pumpkin.

It's all starting to happen so fast!!!

Rylee said DaDa yesterday (9/1/10).  Actually, she has said both DaDa and Daddy!  This morning she said it 3 more times, but Kevin did not hear any of them as he was in another room or walking Diogi...  Also when Kevin got her up and brought her in the room to say good morning to Mommy, she waved at me!  She has actually been waving for a little while now, but we were not sure if it was just coincidence or not. 

When Kevin walked into the house after taking Diogi for his walk, Rylee was in her jumper, looked over at him, and said "hi!"  This has happened a few times before too, but again we were not sure if it's all coincidental.  It is so hard at this age to tell if they are meaning or realizing what they are doing/saying!  Either way it counts, and she is just becoming smarter every day! 

It is so awesome to see her personality blooming!  She is funny, and cracks herself up at times, which is too cute!  She loves laughing and giggling, and dancing seems to be her favorite right now!  I can't believe how fast it is all happening, but so excited for it and can't wait to see more!!!

From the mouth of our babe...

Last Thursday (8/19/10), Rylee was in her jumper while I was making dinner, and she was fussing to get out... While babbling, out came "Ma Ma"!!! Of course no one else was around to hear it (Kevin was out of town), and I could not get her to do it again, but that was the most amazing thing I have ever heard from her!!! She of course got her way too!  :)

She's a crawlin'!

So last Thursday (8/5/10) I am picking up Rylee from school.  She is of course super happy to see me as I am to see her (it's the best part of my day, picking her up after work!), and the teachers are all excited.  They told me Rylee is crawling!  Well, more like scooting on her stomach across the floor, but she is mobile!  I of course was super excited, but also a little sad that I was not there to see her do it for the first time...  As soon as I get her home, Kevin and I set her on her stomach on her mat in the living room, and try to get her to come to us.  She moves about 2 inches total, and is too interested in Diogi to try anymore.  I try again in the morning, and still no crawling baby. 
I watched Rylee on the cameras at school and noticed that she is in fact scooting!  Not that I did not believe them, but really wanted to see it myself!  When I picked her up from school on Friday, she just happened to be playing on her stomach on the floor mat.  She saw me and automatically started scooting over to me!  I was so happy and proud of our little mobile munchkin!  It really made my Friday!

She's getting so big!

Rylee had a wonderful Dr. appt. today!  She is 15 lbs, 6 ozs, and 26.75 inches long!  She did not really get much taller than the last time, but is still in the 90th percentile for her height.  She is extremely healthy and happy!  Rylee did have to get 2 shots this time, and I made Kevin hold her hands because I could not watch.  She did so good!  She of course cried, but only for a minute and was fine!  She is such a big girl!!!

6 Months Already!

Today Rylee is 6 months old, + 1 day...  My how time had flown by!  I have been so busy that I have let this blog get a little behind.  Here are the updates over the last month and a half!  Rylee now laughs all the time, which is the most incredible sound in the world, and my absolute favorite thing to hear!  She can roll over both ways, and even scoots around!  She has not figured out crawling yet, but I know she will in no time!  She can even sit up all on her own, though she still needs a steady hand or something soft under her for those occasional topples...  She loves grabbing for her toys and a current favorite right now is the glow work Jonas gave her from his stash (our good friend Jennifer Morrison's son (jenmorrisonphotos.com)).

I am back on days at work, so now I get to pick up the munchkin from school every day.  Dropping her off is never fun, but picking her up...  She gets so happy when she sees me, and has the biggest smile, usually accompanied with a giggle and a hug or a snuggle!  The school is great as all the teachers just LOVE Rylee to death, and they sing songs, read books, and even do arts and crafts (I will have to post some of her pudding painting and trees made with her hand prints).  She is learning to socialize with other babies, what ever that means at her age...  :)

Tomorrow Rylee has her 6 month Dr. appt., which I am looking forward to so I can find out her height, weight, etc...  She is still not sleeping through the night, waking up 1 - 2 times still for feedings.  Hopefully we can get some good tips on helping with this, other than letting her cry it out because I am not sure I will do so well with that...  She will get another round of shots, which I hate for her...  She hates them too, but who doesn't!  She has started eating rice cereal at night, and I am quite sure we will start her on some veggies soon.

I will try to be better about posting updates sooner, and after her appt. tomorrow, I will make sure I post her stats (height, weight, and all that fun stuff..._).  :)  She is getting so big and her personality is really blooming!  Pics will be posted soon too!

Rylee's 4 Months!!!

Rylee is really closer to 4.5 months, but I wanted to give a 4 month update.  She had her 4 month Dr. appt. and is growing just perfectly!  She was 13 lbs, 10 ozs which puts her in the 50th percentile for her weight, and 26.5 inches long, and in the 100 percentile for her height!  She is long and lean!  :)  Rylee is very attentive and active!  She plays in the bath now, and has learned to roll over!  She even scoots on her belly!  :)  She tries to talk and sometimes in the morning I will wake up to her singing to herself!  She really is just too adorable!     

Oh, life's changes...

So for Kevin and I's birthday (yes it is the same day), we decided to go to CO to visit the wonderful Susi, Nate, and Andy.  Rylee did wonderful on the trip!  We had a bumpy start due to a snow storm, but really enjoyed ourselves, got some boarding time in, and Rylee got to meet some wonderful friends!  If you have not heard the story, you should ask Kevin about the flight out, and Rylee's bathroom incident!  :)  Here is the link to the pictures that we took while out there:

When we got back, Rylee had her appointment for her shots 2 days later.  I felt so bad knowing she had no idea what was coming!  Rylee was such a trooper!  She got super red, let out a super whail for about 15 seconds, then was done...  Kevin started laughing, and I almost cried for her!  That was seriously the most upset she has ever gotten, the most red she has ever been, and the loudest she has ever been!  And luckily it was really short lived! 

The next big hurdle was the dreaded daycare, and me going back to work...  All the teachers at her school are super nice and understanding.  I cried the first 2 times being in there with her, the first time just dropping off her paperwork and meeting the teachers before Monday!  All the other times have been on the way into the office or at the office, so at least Rylee does not have to see Mommy getting upset...  Rylee did much better than Mommy...  I feel for every mom who has ever had or is about to go through that...  I knew it would be hard, but wow...  I am lucky because the daycare has video surveillance, so I can check on her all throughout the day, but it is still tough...  I know it will get easier, but it will never be easy...  Rylee is doing very well though!  All the teachers just love her!  I am not surprised!  :)

My Little Monkey!

Rylee is doing so well, and growing like a weed!  She will be 9 weeks old this Sunday, and I can't believe how quickly time is flying!  She just had her 2 month appt., and is 10lbs, 15 ozs and 23.5 inches long.  She is in the 50th % for weight and 90th % for height.  I wonder where she gets that from?  =)

Since we are going to CO for our birthday, we decided to wait on giving her vaccines until we get back, which I am not looking forward to.  I hate shots myself, and I know Rylee will not be a happy camper!  Poor thing does not even know it's coming!  =(  I am super excited and nervous about flying with her, but am hoping for the best!  Keep your fingers crossed for a smooth flight! 

The pictures in the link are all over the last 2 months.  There are some with Rylee in the hospital, after she is home, sponge baths, regular baths, meeting her Aunt April and Cousin Taylor, meeting Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Great Aunts, etc...  They are pretty much in order, so you can see her growing!

Rylee is smiling all the time now, so I am trying to get as many pics as possible, but it's hard because she will smile until I press the button, then smile immediately afterward!  It's like she knows and is toying with me!  =)  She makes all kinds of noise now, cooing and grunting.  She trys to laugh, and I think will do it any day now!  She is really such an amazing little person, and it is awesome to see her personality coming out!  The amount of love I have for her is scary, but incredible!  She definitley has Daddy wrapped around her finger too!  =)

She is here!!!

Rylee Ann Komassa was born on January 17, 2010, at 11:33 a.m.  She weighed 7lbs., 5.5 ozs. and was 20 inches long.  She is absolutely amazing and beautiful.  As she arrived, there were tears of inde scribable happiness and the love we felt was unlike any other.  I know I am biased, but all the nurses and Dr. said she is such a pretty baby, and so alert!  All throughout our hospital stay, everyone kept saying what a good and beautiful baby we have, and I couldn't agree more!

I apologize for this coming out late, as I have been a little busy...  =)  She is so worth spending every moment with!  I really could stare at her for hours, and have!  =)

Rylee has had 2 Dr. appts. so far, and at both we were told she is perfectly healthy, and again, so beautiful!  Today was her second appt., and she already weighs 8 lbs, 10 ozs, and is growing perfectly.  It is amazing how quickly the time goes by!  I know it has only been 2.5 weeks, but it has already been 2.5 weeks! 

I am in the process of uploading her pictures, and will post the link soon.  Jen was super awesome about coming over and taking pictures of her immediately!  Things have started to settle a little, so I should be better about updating this more frequently.      

I just want to say thanks to all our friends and family for being so amazing during this time!  We love you all!

Still Waiting...

No Rylee yet...  She is still sounding very healthy though, so I am happy.  My favorite part of every Dr. appt. is getting to listen to her heartbeat!  There were no real changes from my last appt., so I am done guessing when she will come.  It is really up to her, unless she is not here by the 25th, because that is when they will have to incude me.  The good news for me is that no matter what, in 13 days or less, Rylee will be here no matter what! 

Kevin is currently painting Rylee a painting to match her owl dolls in her room, which I think is awesome!  He is such a good husband, and will be an amazing father.  He is super excited to see her (of course), and we are hoping she will come sooner than later.

Hopefully the next time I post something, it will be about Rylee being born!

Any Day Now!

I am finally getting to posting an update!  Well the Dr. says Rylee can come at any time.  I know it is a waiting game, but I asked when they thought she may come, because I had some questions about being induced, and the Dr. said she really did not think I would have to be induced.  You never know, but they think she will come on her own, as I have already started progressing some.  It is really exciting, but also very nerve racking, knowing she can come whenever!

Susi did an amazing job with my shower, and I appreciate all her hard work!  Even Kevin and Susi's husband Nate helped out so much before everyone arrived!  I really have the best group of friends and family a girl could ask for!  =)

I have another appointment on Monday (they are every Monday now), so I will be sure to post another update if Rylee has not come by then.  At the absolute latest, she will be here by Jan. 25, as they will not let me go past that date, but I am sure she wants to meet everyone before then!
